Yuka Doutou - item #5
Contemporary Silkscreen
A fabulous print by Yuka Doutou: Item #5. A sprawling field of tiny hand-drawn characters scatters across the surface, part glyph, part doodle - as if a notebook has exploded into motion. Black and metallic gold figures dart, dance, and dissolve into pattern, hovering between chaos and order. Doutou’s silkscreen technique captures both the tactile density of ink and the playful looseness of chance, inviting viewers to wander through a landscape of animated fragments. A spectacular & large print of small edition run.✨🎨

About the Artist
道藤由加 Yuka Doutou (b. 1983, Hyōgo) builds exuberant silkscreen prints that shift with every glance. From afar, her candy-bright surfaces appear carefree and textile-like; up close, they burst into crowds of animated characters - playful, chaotic, and full of mischief. Balancing light-hearted colour with an undertone of unease, Doutou captures what she calls “Carefree Moment, Bad Premonition” (呑気な時間、嫌な予感). Winner of the Jury Prize at the Tokyo International Mini-Print Triennial, Doutou's contemporary works are a marvel to behold. [ ← View All Works by Yuka Doutou]
