About

Kumo Arts is an independent UK gallery specialising in original Japanese printmaking, from the post-war period to artists working today.

The gallery grew from my own interest in Japanese art and printmaking, shaped by time spent working in auction houses and growing up around art and collectors. Every work is personally selected by me, bringing together established 20th-century printmakers with contemporary artists working in Japan and internationally.

Kumo is deliberately personal. I choose works that I genuinely like and would want to live with myself, while spending time researching the artists, techniques, editions and wider context behind them. For a growing part of the contemporary collection, I also work directly with the artists themselves, helping bring works to collectors that can be difficult to find outside Japan.

Kumo Arts is based in Bristol, UK, and ships worldwide.
