Modern | Sōsaku Hanga Woodblock Print
Katsuyuki Nishijima’s woodblock print “久田屋” (Kudaya) presents the façade of Hisadaya inn in Hida-Takayama’s Sanmachi Suji. Two bright wagasa umbrellas rest against latticed screens, while a raincoat and straw hat hang by the entrance - suggesting warmth and the aroma of simmering miso and Hida-beef within. Beneath a blue sky, this scene captures a moment of rustic charm and enduring hospitality. 🌂🍲
