Modern | Sōsaku Hanga Woodblock Print

Haku Maki’s 1979 embossed woodblock print Collection-22 depicts a tokkuri - the ceramic flask traditionally used for serving sake - printed in dense relief against a deep black background 🍶⬛️. Cream, ochre, and muted metallic tones wash across the surface with a glaze-like mottling, giving the vessel a fired, ceramic feel. The embossing is strong throughout, with crisp edges and heavy texture that makes the form stand out cleanly from the dark field ✨.
