Misa Tsuchiya - tiger skin
Contemporary Woodblock Print
Tiger! 🐯 🐯 . A tribute to the proverb “A tiger dies and keeps its skin, a man dies and keeps his name". Misa Tsuchiya’s insight & inspiration behind this wonderfully fun piece, "tiger skin":
「虎は死して皮を留め、人は死して名を残す」・虎は死んでも美しい毛皮が残るように、人々の死後も後世に名が残るような生き方をするべきという教訓より。”A tiger dies and keeps its skin, a man dies and keeps his name”・ From the lesson that just as a tiger retains its beautiful pelt when it dies, people should live in such a way that their names will remain in posterity after their death.
