Sale price£440.00

Modern | Sōsaku Hanga Woodblock Print

Haku Maki’s 1976 embossed woodblock print 76-55 (Wrong) features six red circular forms printed in relief against a deep black background, arranged in two vertical columns and separated by a pair of narrow white vertical bars at centre 🔴⬛️. The circles are crisply embossed, with clearly defined edges. A small blue seal mark appears near the lower margin, providing a single "splash" of colour to wonderfully balance the composition ✨.

    • Year & Edition: 1976 · 76-55 (Wrong) · Ed. 25/156.
    • Medium: Embossed Woodblock.
    • Dimensions: Sheet H 49.00 cm × W 36.75 cm.
    • Condition: Beautiful condition - image face clean, sharp, and unblemished. Light age-related toning to paper, with a very faint mat line.
    • Notes: A strong abstract work from Maki’s 1970s output, focused on embossed geometric, flat colour. A large & fabulously bold, graphical, tactile print. 👁️✨
