The swirling background is produced through baren-zuri, while itabokashi is used for the softer patterning of the mug and gomazuri for the grainier tonal areas. Mica mixed into selected pigments adds a subtle sheen. The vertical, script lettering is carved and printed in reverse, becoming readable from the back when the thin Kandashi paper is held to the light: \u003cem\u003e“The advantage of tea is that you can drink it while you work. Trained at the University of Rzeszów, Japanese water-based woodblock is central to his practice, combining traditional hand-printing with techniques such as bokashi gradation, karazuri embossing and kirazuri mica printing.
