A graduate of Tokyo University of the Arts, he became known for his Graph and Mental Graph works, combining precise grids, repeated geometric forms and vivid colour. Inaba taught at Tokyo Zokei University for many years, later becoming Professor Emeritus, and was warmly remembered by the generations of students he taught.
